The Novon Group is local to my business in Whyteleafe. To date, they have serviced my boiler on an annual basis, changed two basin taps, and have just installed seven 5 foot long twin strip L.E.D. light units in my business premises that have replaced seven old cat 2 twin tube florescent light units. They work in a tidy, efficient manner. All old units and any associated packaging related to the new items were taken away leaving my workplace as tidy and clean as it was prior to the installation. The end result is fantastic, and I'm so happy with the brightness of light in the art gallery area. Prior to the most recent work a free of charge site visit was carried out and a quote followed promptly. The employees and contractors that I've had contact with regarding the work on my premises have been prompt, enthusiastic, knowledgeable, and polite and I would recommend their services without hesitation.

Needed a new boiler at the end of last year, did what most people do and got a few quotes, chose Novon Group not just because their price was reasonable but because they explained everything I needed with great clarity and professionalism - not even 48 hours later they were back to install - Josh and Olly did a wonderful job, done in a day, cleaned up after - highly recommend and will use again

How A Home Charger Transforms Day-To-Day EV Use

Your car is essential. School runs, station parking, weekend trips, etc, all depend on your EV being charged. Ready to go.

Public chargers help, but they often create stress. You arrive to find them busy, out of order, or charging at a higher rate than expected. Time spent waiting, watching the clock, and reshuffling your plans.

A dedicated home charger changes all of that. Once it’s fitted, you connect when you get home. Your car silently charges in the background while you get on with your evening.

You decide when to charge, how fast to charge, and which tariff to use…

Is your home ready for an EV charger?

Homes around Sutton range from Victorian terraces and 1930s semis to modern flats with shared car parks and newer estates with wide driveways. Each layout needs tailored planning.

When you book a free survey, one of our qualified Electricians checks:

  • Your main fuse board and existing electrical load
  • Earthing and bonding setup
  • Where you park and how you access the space
  • Cable routes which keep things safe and out of sight

Most homes are suitable for EV Charger Fitting with minimal or no extra work.

In some cases, we recommend a small improvement or an additional safety device.

Once you have a clear picture of your home’s suitability, the next decision is…

Choosing the right charger for how you drive

Not every driver uses their EV in the same way. Some do short trips and top up little and often. Others rely on a full battery almost every day. We match the charger to your routines.

Tethered chargers

Tethered chargers have a built-in cable which lives on the charger. You park, unhook the lead, and plug in.

It’s ideal if you use the same car every day and want the quickest “plug and go” setup.

Untethered chargers

Untethered chargers have the socket on the unit. You plug-in your own cable.

A cleaner look and the flexibility to swap cables. Ideal if you change cars or lend your charger to a visitor.

Smart chargers

Smart chargers link to a device app or online page.

You can:

  • Set charging to run overnight on cheaper rates.
  • See how much energy you’ve used.
  • Pause or resume charging from your phone.
  • Connect with solar panels or home batteries.

Dual chargers

Busy households with two EVs, or shared driveways, choose dual chargers.

Dual chargers allow two vehicles to charge from a single fitting, each powering its own vehicle.

During your survey, we look at how far you drive, how often you charge, and what you prefer to spend now versus later. Your EV Charger will support your lifestyle instead of forcing you to adapt to it.

Next, let’s look at the design and installation process…

How we plan and fit your charger

Good fitting is about planning first, tools second. As part of your EV Charger Fitting, we design the route to comply with the rules and look as neat as possible.

Steps include:

  • Free survey and advice: We visit, learn how you use your EV, and assess the best location for the charging unit.
  • Fixed quote in writing: A clear price covering the work, with no hidden extras.
  • Pre-fitting checks: We’ll confirm everything matches the plan.
  • Cable routing and mounting: Cables are clipped, protected, and routed along agreed paths. The charger is mounted at the right height and levelled.
  • Testing and setup: We undertake a full set of tests and, if you’ve chosen a smart charger, help you link it to your app.

On the day of your EV Charger Fitting, we’ll work meticulously and efficiently, keeping disruption to a minimum.

Before we leave, we’ll show you how to start and stop charging and answer any questions you have.

Following the installation, you’ll receive an installation certificate…

Safety, rules, and certification

Every EV charger fitting complies with current UK wiring regulations, including BS 7671.

  • We check your supply can handle the extra load
  • We install the correct safety devices and earthing
  • We test the charger

You’ll receive an electrical installation certificate when everything is complete.

This proves qualified Electricians did the work, and it’s useful for both warranties and home insurance.

Following the installation, you’ll enjoy the following benefits…

Costs, savings, and long-term value

No two properties are the same, so we don’t use one-size-fits-all prices.

Your quote depends on:

  • The type and brand of charger you choose
  • How far is it from your fuse board to the parking space
  • Whether any small electrical improvements are needed

Smart chargers cost more upfront but pay back over time.

By setting timers to charge overnight, you take advantage of off-peak tariffs, which lower your cost per mile compared to petrol, diesel, or many public chargers.

Over time, a well-planned home charger helps protect your battery, lowers running costs, and adds an attractive feature to your property if you decide to move.

And if you don’t have a private driveway, you still have options…

Options for flats, landlords, and local businesses

Not everyone in Sutton has a private driveway, but there are still workable choices.

For flats and shared parking courts, we work with building managers or owners to plan shared chargers, marked bays, or managed systems which share usage.

Landlords are adding EV facilities in greater numbers to make their properties more attractive.

Local businesses fit chargers for staff, fleet vehicles, or visitors. This helps with green goals while offering a useful perk to employees who regularly drive EVs.

And when it comes to choosing who will fit your EV charger…
